Felisia Villafuerte Rodríguez was born and raised in Zinapécuaro, and has been working as a ceramic artist since 1985. Zinapécuaro pottery is unique in that the artists employ resist (also known as negative) technique. This involves applying an applique that is removed after the glaze has been applied, leaving a negative impression.
